Publications/Digital Media Intern
Leading allergy and asthma nonprofit organization seeks an enthusiastic and creative individual to support the publications department as an intern, with the primary focus on writing and editing copy for its award-winning publication, Allergy & Asthma Today, special publications and digital assets, including website and e-Newsletter.
The goal of our internship program is to provide training and experience to students interested in careers in health care writing and editing, for both publications and digital media. The right individuals must take great pride in their work and pay strong attention to detail. Telecommuting is a possibility for the right candidate.
Interns work under the direction of the Managing Editor and Associate Editor and assist in researching and writing news and feature stories, interviewing experts, fact checking and proofreading.
- Background in writing and editing – consumer health care experience or interest preferred but not mandatory
- Candidate must be committed and responsible, and able to work as part of a team and independently
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
The Network’s internship program accepts college students of any level, for spring, summer or fall semesters. Interns are paid an hourly rate and must be sponsored by a teacher, advisor or other school official, to whom The Network will provide a final evaluation of the student’s internship, if applicable.
