Statement from Health Organizations: http://www.lung.org/about-us/media/press-releases/clean-power-plan.html
Here’s a statement from Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH), who serves as co-chair of Allergy & Asthma Network’s Congressional Asthma and Allergy Caucus: “As the founder and co-chair of the bipartisan Congressional Allergy and Asthma Caucus, one of my top priorities is to ensure that our kids and grandkids are breathing clean, healthy air. That’s why I supported the Clean Power Plan, which was projected to prevent an estimated 90,000 pediatric asthma attacks and 3,600 premature deaths each year once fully implemented.
“The Trump Administration proposal to roll back the Clean Power Plan threatens to harm both our environment and our kids’ lungs. Climate change is a public health crisis, and we must continue taking steps like the Clean Power Plan to contain its impact, instead of going backward and worsening the environmental threats our children will inherit.”
