AAN Offers Perspectives on Health Misinformation and Social Media

Director of Public Health Engagement Tori Martel provided her insight to Healio on a recent study about the prevalence of social media health misinformation, including involving natural cures and food allergy testing. “For clinicians and health educators, the findings reinforce the need to shift from reactive to proactive communication,” Tori writes. “Make myth-busting part of routine care.”

Advocacy Leadership in Action: PALI and AADCH Initiatives

Allergy & Asthma Network is leading the charge to advance patient-centered health policy and drive meaningful change. Through our Patient Advocacy Leadership Initiative (PALI), we equip advocates to influence legislation and shape policy. Their efforts culminate May 6 when 100 advocates convene in Washington, DC for the 29th annual Allergy & Asthma Day on Capitol Hill (AADCH) to champion policies that improve lives.

Research Team Leads Study on Epinephrine Preferences

Data Insights and Analytics Manager Mitu Patel and Chief Research Officer De De Gardner recently spearheaded a study on what patients and caregivers prefer in an epinephrine product. They found a preference for needle-free epinephrine over auto-injectors. The research was presented at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) annual meeting in February.
