Peanut allergy study for children 4-17

You may be eligible to participate in an interview about your experiences with peanut allergy.

Adelphi Values is a healthcare research company that does research to understand medical conditions, treatments, and how these impact patients’ lives. Adelphi Values is conducting an interview study to learn about the experience of patients with peanut allergy and their caregivers. We are reaching out because you may be eligible to take part in a 90-minute interview over the phone or video conference.  If eligible, you will be paid for your time.

Who: The study team is looking to interview caregivers of children 4–17 years with peanut allergy and children 12–17 years with peanut allergy.

When/Where: Interviews can be scheduled at a day and time that is convenient for you.  The interview can take place by telephone or video teleconferenceThe interview will last about 90 minutes.

What: If you participate you will be asked to be in a 90-minute (1.5 hour) interview.  During the interview you will be asked questions about your experiences with peanut allergy and what information you think is important when making decisions around peanut allergy treatment. You will also be asked to read information in a tool used to help patients with peanut allergy, their caregivers, and their doctor reach a decision about what treatment option is best for the patient. You will be asked to read the information and answer questions on this tool, and to give feedback on this tool.

Why: Participating in this study will help to better understand the experience of children with peanut allergy and their caregivers, and what is important when making treatment decisions.

No medication will be administered or tested during this study.  We will ask all participants to provide confirmation of peanut allergy diagnosis (via results from a previously conducted food, blood, or skin test).

 Either you or both you and your child will receive a single payment of $150.00 for participation in an interview.

Your/your child’s name and contact information will be kept confidential and will only be accessible to people directly involved in this study.
