The FLAIR Study is evaluating an investigational drug to see how it works in reducing the
severity and frequency of asthma attacks in children, adolescents, and adults. The
investigational drug is a combination of two commercially approved drugs used separately to
treat asthma, administered through a single inhaler.
The minimum time that you will be in the study would be at least 6 months, but it can be up to
about 3 years. During this time, you will be asked to attend at least five study visits at the
research center, once every 3 months throughout the study treatment period. You will continue
to take your standard of care asthma maintenance treatment(s) in addition to the investigational
drug inhaler that will be used solely for asthma attacks.
The investigational drug will be administered using a multidose dry powder inhaler device with
an integrated electronic module (eMDPI).
During the study, the study team will monitor your health. Laboratory tests (blood and urine),
physical examinations, lung function tests, heart assessments, questionnaires, and other
procedures will be conducted as part of this study. You will also be asked to enter information
about your asthma symptoms into an electronic diary twice daily and do a breathing test
(spirometry) each morning at home.
During this study, you will:
- Regularly attend the study visits at the research center.
- Adhere to the study requirements and study doctor instructions.
- Openly communicate with the study team regarding any concerns or changes in your
health.
The investigational study drug and study procedures are provided at no charge. Travel and
study-related costs may be reimbursed.
Why join this study?
- Contribute to research.
- Gain access to the investigational drug free of charge.
- Your participation may positively impact the lives of people with asthma.
