New Study for Adults with Asthma: Help Improve Available Treatments

A woman is standing on a beach, smiling and hugging two children. The girl on the left is looking up at the woman, while the boy on the right smiles at the camera. The sky is clear and the ocean is visible in the background.

Twenty-five million people in the United States have asthma – that’s one in 13 Americans. While there are several treatment options available to help manage symptoms of asthma, these treatments don’t always work well for everyone. Researchers are working hard to expand their knowledge of asthma and improve available treatments.

Our partners at Avillion are conducting a research study called DENALI and are looking for people who are currently living with asthma to get involved.

In the DENALI study, doctors want to learn more about an inhaled study medication (which is a combination of budesonide and albuterol) in adults with asthma. Separately, these two medications are well-established treatments that have been widely used for asthma. This study will compare two doses of the combination medication to budesonide, albuterol or placebo alone to learn about the safety and effectiveness of the study medication.

Studies like this one are important for medical advances. Current treatments are only available because of past research study volunteers.

To be eligible for Avillion’s DENALI asthma study, you must be:

  • At least 18 years of age or older
  • Diagnosed with asthma
  • Taking certain inhaled medications for asthma

Please note this is not a complete list of eligibility criteria.

If you are qualified and chosen to participate in this study, you will receive all study-related procedures and the investigational drug at no cost. You will also be reimbursed for your time participating in this study.
