Severe Asthma Study for Children and Adults

Areteia Therapeutics, Inc is currently conducting asthma trials to investigate the safety, tolerability, and efficacy of the investigational drug dexpramipexole (also called “Dex”) in participants with inadequately controlled severe asthma.

Do you or your child have severe asthma? We are seeking volunteers for this paid research study that seeks to improve the way we treat this chronic condition. 

Qualified participants must:

  • Be 12 years and up
  • Have a physician diagnosis of asthma at least a year ago 
  • Must be taking at least one medium to high dose maintenance inhaler daily, with another asthma medication

Study participants will maintain their usual asthma medications while taking either the study medication (Dex) or a placebo twice a day for 6 or 12 months, depending on the study you qualify for.

Participation is up to 6 or 14 months, with visits scheduled every 4 to 8 weeks and all study-related doctor visits, assessments, and trial medication is at no cost to participants; plus, they will be compensated for time and travel for visits.
